A very comprehensive Strategic Plan for Michigan's Tourism Industry, beginning with statewide visioning sessions, will soon be implemented. A planning team from MSU and Travel Michigan is coordinating this effort. Information on this important initiative is available at www.tourismcenter.msu.edu/plan/.

Acknowledgements: Thanks to Greg Troin, Northern Michigan Tourist Association (http://www.travelnorth.org), for use of comprehensive database of Michigan businesses and organizations. It has helped us reach across length and breadth of our state as we send out individual announcements and invitations to this major tourism summit.
Disclaimer: This tourism-related learning session is not a part of, nor connected in any way to, the Michigan Festival & Events Association (MFEA) or their event. The MFEA is holding its foundation gala, "Michigan's Fun Kick-Off," over this same weekend in Petoskey/Charlevoix area.
Everyone is invited to bring family and friends to enjoy an array of activities and events, open to the public, in Charlevoix on Saturday. There will be a carnival, entertainment, Kid's Kingdom, art fair, and more - capped off with evening fireworks.
